In July, CRICO facilitated a Rapid PULSE 360 Pilot Program kick-off meeting to review objectives of the pilot program. Leaders from Boston Children’s Hospital provided insight regarding their implementation of the PULSE 360 program. A recording of this kick-off meeting may be requested from CRICO.

All CRICO member organizations that purchase Association Liability coverage from CRICO have been invited to participate in this pilot program. The institutions below have indicated interest. In late 2022/early 2023, management will follow up with organizations who elected not to participate and seek to engage their involvement.

  • Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
  • Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center-Milton
  • Brigham and Women's Hospital
  • Boston Children's Hospital
  • Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
  • Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians
  • Lahey Hospital & Medical Center
  • Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary
  • Massachusetts General Hospital
  • New England Baptist Hospital
  • Newton-Wellesley Hospital

In November/December, it is anticipated that MEEI, NEBH, and BIDMC/HMFP will begin implementation of this pilot program. To begin, staff from Pulse will conduct orientation sessions and CRICO will provide administrative funding support to each organization via a formal agreement.

Upcoming Key Milestones

To assist organizations in program implementation, CRICO, in coordination with Pulse, is developing an FAQ document to be shared in late 2022. CRICO will facilitate collaborative meetings for participating organizations to d scuss project status, challenges, and identification of potential best practices. Representatives from Pulse—along with Dr Peter Laussen and Dr David DeMaso from BCH—will attend these meetings. Drs Laussen and DeMaso have a wealth of experience in using the Pulse program at their institution and will be available during this pilot program to offer implementation guidance to organizations. The first collaborative meeting is anticipated to be held in early 2023.

CRICO Employment Practice Liability Resources

CRICO’s EPL insurance provides coverage for employment-related claims such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. One of CRICO’s strategic goals is to build and deliver a leading EPL risk mitigation and insurance program that will: 1) inform our members about risks associated with employment-related lawsuits; and 2) provide data and methods that can help organizations better understand and decrease this risk. CRICO’s EPL webpage is updated monthly and includes information about our EPL coverage, EPL case studies, and best practices. We hope this site will become a valuable resource for our member organizations.
