Going home after a long, difficult day at work is a relief to most people. But it’s a little different for physicians. Even if a phone call doesn’t get them out of bed (that happens too, of course), a stray worry can still keep them up at night. These four physicians share their experiences just trying to watch a movie without intrusive thoughts: did they do everything right during surgery or make the right diagnosis for a patient in pain? It is a unique burden that cannot be lifted.
