This interview with Dr. Adam Schaffer focuses on his research with his four co-authors of the article “Association of Simulation Training With Rates of Medical Malpractice Claims Among Obstetrician–Gynecologists,” which was published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. During the discussion Dr. Schaffer explains how his team’s research centered on the idea that tracking malpractice claim rates against obstetricians and gynecologists can help tackle the issue of determining efficacy of simulations. The researchers’ findings, that malpractice rates tended to decrease when a team had undergone simulation training, were also covered in this interview.
