Data and convening from the Risk management Foundation of the Harvard Medical Institutions led to a study on 360 degree reviews. They concluded that "though malpractice is a complex issue, our study adds to the growing literature that problematic surgeon behavior is associated with many negative consequences including malpractice claims. Thus, in the future, targeted promotion of positive surgeon behaviors and modification of negative ones could potentially aid in the mitigation of malpractice risk and ultimately in the improvement of the quality of patient care."
