Trial and Error: Learning From Malpractice Claims in Childhood Surgery

Using Candello Solutions by CRICO, this article analyzed the malpractice claims involving patients 18 years old that occurred from 2008 to 2017.


Researchers utilized Candello Solutions by CRICO in order to analyze malpractice lawsuits involving pediatric surgical patients to identify contributing factors in liability claims. Patient evaluations, technical performance, and communication are modifiable factors to improve surgical care in children.
