The work revealed a direct relationship between the quality of patient handoffs and claims.

Continuing Professional Development in the Twenty-First Century

CRICO is acknowledged in the Journal of Continuing Education in the Health Professions (JCEHP) as “an excellent example of how liability insurance carriers have recognized the value of continuing professional development (CPD) and its impact on reducing their risks.”

The JCEHP article emphasizes the critical role of CPD in supporting effective delivery of the highest quality of patient care and safety. Author Ajit Sachdeva’s conclusion includes that CPD using multi-pronged approaches and direct involvement of a variety of key stakeholders—such as CRICO’s collaboration between Harvard-affiliated simulation programs— can result in a major positive impact.
