Healthcare Risk Management reports on a large study conducted by Boston Children’s Hospital in which researchers reviewed 498 medical malpractice claims provided by Candello, CRICO’s national medical malpractice collaborative. The work revealed a direct relationship between the quality of patient handoffs and claims.

NPSF and CRICO Announce Plans to Highlight Patient Safety Research

CRICO has agreed to underwrite the Keynote: Hot Topics in Patient Safety: Selected Papers Advancing the Field in the Past Year presented by Kaveh Shojania, MD, at National Patient Safety Foundation's (NPSF) Patient Safety Congress. The three year sponsorship will begin at the 17th annual session April 29-May 1, 2015 in Austin, TX.

This funding is an extension of CRICO's mission: to promote patient safety through broad dissemination of initiatives designed to reduce medical error and malpractice exposure. The NPSF Congress will focus on key research findings related to patient safety.
