Kathy Dwyer, MSN, RN is a Senior Program Director of Patient Safety for CRICO. She provides patient safety and risk management consultative services to several institutions including Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, New England Baptist Hospital, and MIT Medical. Kathy also serves as the project manager in the area of improving surgical safety which includes projects aimed at improving teamwork and communication in the operating room.

Ms. Dwyer received her undergraduate degree in nursing from Boston College and a master’s degree from Simmons College. Prior to joining CRICO in 1995, Kathy served as the risk manager at Lahey Clinic and also practiced as an adult nurse practitioner at Kaiser Permanente. In 2001, she co-authored the landmark patient safety film, First, Do No Harm, with the Partnership for Patient Safety.
