Thank you for joining us in Boston this November 13–14 for our annual gathering of Clinical Taxonomy Specialists. This day-and-a-half, evidence-based collaborative brought enhanced insights to your coding process, allowing you to ensure continued accuracy and consistency of your coded data and maximize the benefits of your organization’s investment in CBS.

Professionals who use the CRICO Clinical Coding Taxonomy had the opportunity to meet with subject matter experts in key clinical services to discuss common scenarios and challenges, and share insights that will maximize the coding process and clinical intelligence of your data reporting.

There was a particular focus this year given to the topic of failure to rescue/patient monitoring and the system safeguards that should be in place to interrupt the clinical cascade of events.

Highlights included:

  • 2018 audit results
  • CRICO taxonomy update
  • Clinical Safety Scientist, Dr. Kathryn Kellogg, MD MPH spoke about her training in systems engineering, human factors and patient safety
  • Rapid response triggers, a discussion with a front-line clinician

Here is what attendees had to say about last year’s event:

  • Excellent! Engaging! Memorable! Loved the visuals!
  • Inspirational!
  • Loved the video-it gave me such a whole new appreciation of how important teamwork is.
  • Excellent program as always. Always enjoy seeing all of the CRICO staff and fellow Coders.
  • Love the energy and learning that happens at the Collaborative!

We look forward to seeing you again in 2019!
