Surgery Summit 2007:
Seeking Practical Ways to Improve Patient Safety

CRICO/RMF Strategies Symposium
Liberty Hotel (formerly the Charles Street Jail)
Boston, Massachusetts
Monday, November 5, 2007
7:00 am – 5:00 pm

Making Excellent Surgeons Better

We cannot wait for malpractice trials to motivate problem solving around the most pressing safety issues surgeons face. In order to prevent injuries (and lawsuits) presenters and participants in the CRICO/RMF Strategies Surgery Summit will investigate the underlying problems—and begin creating solutions.

Please join us at the newly opened Liberty Hotel in Boston Monday, November 5, 2007 to be part of the process that is working to keep patients safe and their surgeons out of court.

Through panel discussions, Q & A opportunities, informal gatherings, and—we hope—post-summit collaboration, participants will focus on practical ideas for improving four key areas in surgical patient safety.

  1. Effective team skills
  2. Technical proficiency
  3. Informed decision making
  4. What to do when things go wrong
