Overview: Upon completion, participants will be better equipped to deal with the tensions that arise in the diagnostic, therapeutic and interpersonal challenges of clinical practice and will become more knowledgeable about areas where clinical practice and the law intersect. Current concepts in malpractice prevention and "hot spots" in risk management are emphasized. The course will focus on new developments in physician education about disclosure of adverse events and medical errors. The course will also provide information about lessons learned and the consequent prevention strategies that can be adopted to enhance quality care.
