The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine has approved Forum (quarterly electronic journal) as qualifying for the equivalent of Category 1 risk management credit. An annotated table of contents for each current issue of Forum is emailed to CRICO-insured physicians.
Individual Category 1 credits may be earned as follows: 0.5 credit for reading one issue of Forum. These Category 1 credits are based on self-reporting and are available to physicians licensed in Massachusetts only.
Risk Management Category 1 equivalency credits earned in this way may not be applied toward the other 36 non-risk management Category 1 CME credits that must be obtained during each Massachusetts biennial license renewal cycle. Excess credits earned by reading Forum may be applied toward the six Category 2 risk management or any Category 2 credits that must be earned every two years.
