Patient Safety

Suggestions

Suggestions for Presentation

Because of this module's focus on the fundamentals of the patient safety discipline, a didactic method of delivery may be most effective. For independent learning, the module's objectives can be met by taking the online CME course The Nature and Causes of Errors in Patient Safety @ www.rmfcme.com.

Suggestions for Customization

Demonstrate or illustrate your organization's administrative structure for Patient Safety. Query your audience to assess familiarity with your PS staff and key protocols (e.g., where does one report errors, broken equipment, patient complaints). If practical, have someone from the Patient Safety staff on hand to answer questions.
